ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Nov. 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ - The third edition of The MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi 2025 has been released, highlighting the capital's evolving culinary landscape. Five new restaurants have been added, two of which have been awarded the 'Bib Gourmand'. The four restaurants that previously received Michelin stars retained their awards: Erth, 99 Sushi Bar, Hakkasan and Talea by Antonio Guida.

The five new restaurants added to the Guide include:
Mika: a lively venue in Yas Marina serving Mediterranean-inspired cuisine
Bord'O by Nicolas Isnard: French classics from Côte-d'Or
Em Sherif Sea Café: serving authentic Lebanese cuisine
Broadway: a modern American bistro in the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
ryba: specializing in charcoal grilled local fish
Mika and ryba were awarded the Bib Gourmand for outstanding value and quality, while five restaurants continued to retain the Bib Gourmand: t'azal, Al Mrzab, Beirut Sur Mer, Otoro, and Almayass. Special Awards were also given out, including to Em Sherif Sea Café. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, spoke highly of Abu Dhabi's culinary blend of authentic tradition and innovation. He emphasized the city's potential as a unique culinary destination, as well as the challenges of maintaining a Michelin star every year. Poullennec extolled the unwavering commitment to excellence of local professionals who deliver unique culinary experiences with passion and consistency. He is optimistic that more chefs will be attracted to Abu Dhabi in the coming years, further raising culinary standards in the region.
The Michelin Guide Special Awards recognize diversity and excellence in the hospitality industry. This year, the Young Chef Award went to Yasmina Hayek from Em Sherif Sea Café for her authentic Lebanese cuisine and forward-thinking approach to cooking. The Welcome and Service Award was presented to the Mika team, led by Chef and owner Mario Loi, for their warm and attentive service. The Best Opening of the Year 2025 award went to ryba, a local restaurant in Al Mina souq, which was praised for its tantalizing fish menu and the passion of Chef and owner Faisal Mohamed Alharmoodi.
