MAGDEBURG, Germany, Oct. 4, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- The state of Saxony-Anhalt extends a warm welcome to innovative companies in the high-tech industry that want to make history. There is plenty of room for large-scale planning, as the central German federal state offers Europe's largest investment opportunity in a 700-hectare high-tech park on the outskirts of its capital, Magdeburg. In addition, there are currently 19 more attractive commercial and industrial sites, each offering at least 10 hectares of contiguous space, which will be presented at the joint booth of the Central European Metropolitan Area of Germany at the Munich Expo, Europe's largest B2B real estate and investment trade fair.
Around four hectares of land will be developed for tourism and water sports in the vicinity of Lake Bergwitz in the Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg World Heritage Area.
"Saxony-Anhalt is currently experiencing extraordinary investment momentum. The fact that numerous innovative companies from a wide range of industries have deliberately chosen our location is proof of the attractiveness of our region. In addition to excellent location advantages, such as our central location and well-developed infrastructure, we also offer attractive spaces for new projects. We will be emphasizing these advantages at the Royal Fair in order to attract more investors to Saxony-Anhalt and to make the most of our region's growth potential," emphasizes Dr. Robert Franke, Managing Director of IMG.
Sven Schulze, Saxony-Anhalt's Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry, is convinced: "The economy of the eastern German states has become a driving force in Germany. Saxony-Anhalt plays a special role in this regard, especially since companies such as Daimler Trucks, Avnet and WACKER have recently settled here. We want to continue this development and are working to attract more companies to our business locations in Saxony-Anhalt."
Saxony-Anhalt also offers strategic sites for short-term development in Leuna, Köthen, Sangerhausen, Barleben, Stendal, Quedlinburg-Quarmbeck and Sandersdorf-Brehna. Also making its debut at the Expo are tourism-related investment opportunities in Saxony-Anhalt's emerging tourist destinations, which impress visitors from home and abroad with spectacular attractions such as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, picturesque towns and unspoiled nature, leading to an increasing number of guests and overnight stays.
For example, a hotel is planned opposite the intermediate clinic in the health resort of Flechtingen, while Lake Geiseltal envisages another hotel with a unique view of the lake and a 190-meter-long marina. The marina is designed to accommodate approximately 165 boat berths. Along the new promenade, commercial space has been created for maritime and dining establishments, and vacation homes are planned for the slope behind the promenade.
On the southern shore of Lake Geiseltal, the municipality of Braunsberdera is offering two adjoining plots of land, one of 1.5 hectares for a hotel building site and the other of 1.9 hectares for vacation homes. In the Bergwitzsee in the Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg World Heritage Area, a little more than 4 hectares of land will be developed for tourism and water sports. Other potentials are the historic Palace of Culture in Bitterfeld and the historic hotel and theater building "Reichskrone" in the cathedral city of Naumburg, for which investors are currently being sought.
